MONTE TERMINILLO (RIETI)

The considerable natural beauty combined with hotel facilities and sports, made the Terminillo one of the best tourist center of Lazio.
The massif of Terminillo, highest peak 2217.13 m, belongs to the group of Monti Reatini dell'Appennino Abruzzese, and is located 20 km from Rieti and about 100 km from Rome.
It is a ski resort, with 8 lifts, 40 km of slopes for alpine skiing and 20 km dedicated to cross-country skiing. It is connected with Rieti through the Strada Statale 4 bis.

GETTING THERE

By car
From Rome: Terminillo is 97 km from Rome.
Take the A1 Highway - exit Fiano Romano, then take the SS 4 Salaria until Rieti and following the signs Terminillo on the Strada Statale 4.

By Train
Station of Rieti: from here take the bus line for Terminillo.

MONTE LIVATA (ROMA)

Monte Livata is the only ski resort in the province of Rome, The city is 78 kilometers away.
There are 3 ski lifts for 9 slopes suitable for intermediate level skiers.
Monte Livata is also an important center for cross-country skiing:
there are in fact four rings of 5, 8, 10 and 15 kilometers that have hosted in the past several national  events

CAMPO STAFFI (FROSINONE)

Campo Staffi, at about 1800 meters, is located on the border between Lazio and Abruzzo in the commune of Filettino (FR). It was "discovered" around the '50 years. Campo Staffi became immediately an appreciated location for country skiing in the late'50s and here some keens on ski built a small mountain chalet to have a foothold. This building, recently renovated and has always called "Capanna Cipriati" is the first building to sort in Campo Staffi.

SELVAROTONDA CITTAREALE (RIETI)

Small town in the provnce of Rieti, easily accessible from the Via Salaria. 3 skilifts on the slopes of Mount San Venanzio serve 4 tracks long and varied, Fisi approved for the slalom and giant. The snow is supplemented by some generators for artificial snow.

Take the SS 4 Salaria towards Rieti.
After about 80 Km continue towards Ascoli Piceno across Cittaducale, Canetra, Antrodoco, Sigillo, Posta e Bacugno.
After about 120 Km exit in the direction Cittareale.

LEONESSA CAMPO STELLA (RIETI)

Leonessa is located about 1000 meters above sea level, near the border between Lazio, Umbria and Abruzzo, on Monti Reatini, at north of Terminillo.
You can ski on Campo Stella. In Fonte Nova, few kilometers from Leonessa, you can practice cross-country skiing on two rings of 6 and 3 kilometers.

Ski resort near L’Aquila very frequented by Roman skiers. The resort is comfortably reachable from Rome with the Highway A24.
It spreads just south of L'Aquila, at the foot of the massif of Velino. The lifts, between 1400 and 2064 meters, including 8 chairlifts and two skilifts, serve 20 slopes  for a total of 40 km of development.

campo imperatore (aquila)

Campo Imperatore is located in the Province of L'Aquila in the Abruzzo region of Italy in the Gran Sasso massif. It is the largest plateau of the Apennine ridge. Known as Italy's "Little Tibet"; It is located in the natural park known as the "Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park".
In 1943, at the Campo Imperatore, Benito Mussolini was held prisoner until his release on 12 September 1943 by German soldiers led by SS captain Otto Skorzeny (Military Operation Oak – Operazione Quercia).
