| Fregene is a location in the town of Fiumicino and a seaside resort on the Tyrrhenian Sea about 25 km from the city of Rome.
It was built around 1928, after the remediation of the wetland area that Maccarese (in the hinterland), as a center for summer residences on the sea.
In 1666 Pope Clement IX disposed a pine forest for the protection of farmland from winds and sea to make healthy soil waterlogged surrounding area.
Today is a seaside tourist resort of medium-high and in recent decades has achieved an increasing visibility by attending many of the world of entertainment and culture.
In addition to the various clubs, the summer in Fregene is scanned by aperitifs at sunset on the beach.

The Oasis Macchiagrande
The oasis of Macchiagrande is an ecological reserve located near the airport of Fiumicino, between Focene and Fregene, and managed by the WWF. It houses many species of birds, fish and turtles and some snakes.
It is open for tours.
